Design a chatbot to help abortion seekers in the United States find anonymous, unified, and reliable guidance tailored to their situation.
In the wake of the Dobbs decision, abortion seekers in the US faced an uncertain landscape, overwhelmed with questions and misinformation. And they are not finding the help they need online. Project Row, an organization dedicated to helping women access abortion information in the US, asked Work & Co to create a chatbot that will provide seekers with tailored guidance in a secure and anonymous manner.
Working with a panel of experts, we designed a modular, branch logic driven conversation that led the seeker through key decision points. The chatbot educated the seeker on viable options and provided considerations and tradeoffs that empowered the seeker to make the best choice for themselves. At the end, the seeker is directed to the most relevant resource for the next step in their journey, armed with knowledge and additional support.
